Freshly Laid Lawn?
Watering
For the first 2 -3 weeks of laying your lawn you need to ensure it is very moist which will create the turf to establish a good root system to your soil.
Mowing
New turf must be firmly rooted before you can start mowing, otherwise the mower can rip up the turf and destroy the lawn itself. The first mow happens when the lawn reaches about 5 – 7cm in height which is around 2 – 4 weeks after laid depending on the season. You only want to mow 1/3 off the top of the lawn to ensure the grass does not stunt growth.
Fertilising
Fertilising your grass is a key factor to keeping a thriving lawn. You want to be fertilising the lawn around 6 weeks after first laying, followed by deep watering. Fertiliser ensures your lawn gets all the right nutrients needed to grow healthy grass.
