Watering One of the most important things you can do to help your plants grow is to make sure they get enough water. Newly installed plants will need more water than established plants, so it’s important to water them regularly, especially during hot and dry weather. Be sure to water the roots, not the leaves, and water deeply so that the water reaches the entire root system.
Mulch can help to conserve moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature. We recommend using a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base of your plants. Be sure to keep the mulch away from the stem or trunk of the plant to prevent rot.
Pests can be a major problem for plants, especially newly installed ones. Keep an eye out for signs of insect damage, such as chewed leaves or holes in the foliage. If you notice any pests, we recommend using an insecticidal soap or horticultural oil to control the infestation.
