We recently had the pleasure of working on a stunning coastal property on Jefferson Lane, Palm Beach—one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic seaside locations. This project was all about creating a stylish, low-maintenance garden that thrives in harsh coastal conditions while perfectly complementing the home’s modern aesthetic.
Key Challenges
Designing a garden on the beachfront comes with its own set of challenges. For this project, we tackled harsh coastal winds by creating natural barriers, improved sandy soil for better plant growth, and installed efficient drainage systems to handle heavy rain. These smart solutions ensured the garden is not only beautiful but built to thrive in tough coastal conditions.
Wind Barriers
Strong coastal winds meant we needed to strategically position plants and garden structures to create natural windbreaks.
Soil Quality
Sandy soil isn’t ideal for water retention, so we had to prepare and enrich the soil to ensure a healthy foundation for plant growth.
Drainage Solutions
Coastal properties often deal with water pooling during heavy rains. We integrated efficient drainage systems to protect the garden and ensure proper water flow.
Contemporary Outdoor Fire Pit
This bespoke fire pit area was designed and built to provide the ultimate outdoor gathering spot. Nestled within the coastal landscape, the curved concrete seating and recessed fire pit combine modern functionality with timeless style.
Every detail, from the smooth finish of the concrete to the precise layout, was crafted to withstand the elements while enhancing the property’s relaxed, coastal vibe. Perfect for evenings under the stars, it’s a space built for comfort, connection, and lasting memories.
